As our cats grow older the importance of 6 monthly check-ups increases. We are excited to introduce a new program to help monitor our older cat’s health and detect any problems early. The “Prevention And Wellness Service” tracks all of the important areas of your cat’s health and is tailored specifically for you.

Since Ma, our clinic cat is nearing her golden years we have decided to start this program for her too.

Some of the medical conditions that can affect older cats are kidney and heart disease, diabetes and high thyroid levels. If detected early, these conditions can be more easily treated allowing your cat to have a better quality of life.

In order to check for these conditions we would like to check your cats weight, blood pressure, urine concentration and investigate any behaviour changes you have noticed at home.

Shown below are Ma’s results. On her individual senior pet card all of her results were normal except she is a ‘little’ overweight. This can help contribute to the above conditions so the nurses here have put Ma on a strict diet and are hoping she will stop breaking into food bags on her own.
