If you come into the clinic this month you will find the RVC team busy learning our new computer system. We have recently changed to a newer computer system to enable us to offer a more efficient service to our clients. If you come in to the clinic in the next few months please be patient, it will take us some time to learn the system properly. We have also acquired a new device to measure your pet's blood pressure.
Previously we used our Doppler to measure patient's blood pressure. This would sometimes cause distress to the patient as it could be a little tricky to find the artery so that the blood pressure could be measured accurately. Recently Reservoir Veterinary Clinic acquired a Pet MAP device. The Pet MAP reduces patient's anxiety and stress because they can continue to be cuddled by their owners while the veterinarian or veterinary nurse measures the blood pressure. The Pet MAP also does not make any noise unlike the Doppler. Ma doesn't mind her blood pressure being measured any more and we are able to acquire more accurate readings as she no longer gets stressed out by the noise.
